Gomathi, who had served as English teacher in various Government Colleges in the erstwhile Madras Presidency and in Karnataka, such as Victoria College, Palakkad, Government College, Mangaluru (now University College) and Maharani’s College for Women, Bengaluru, and as Principal in Besant College for Women, Mangaluru (on Deputation), had always held the cause of women’s education and empowerment as an ideal and a burning desire close to her heart.
